The Artisans

Welcome to Liz's studio! -
or, do I mean Kitchen, Sewing Room or Knitting Bag?

There seems to be no form of artistry or craft that Liz  cannot 'do' or succeed in  'doing'!

Although very  modest concerning her abilities, Liz is also extremely generous with her talents!

There can be few people in the village who have not sampled her 'tablet' - a delicious Scottish 'sugary' sweet - or  one of her preserves or cakes.

At knitting, sewing and painting she has the ability to always create such lovely things, and a few examples of  are shown here.

Some of us wonder if she would make a real mess of it if we encouraged her to attempt pottery, but we doubt it!

Her parents celebrate their Golden Wedding very soon and above is a picture of the cake Liz has made. On the right is a some detail of the primroses, all edible, made in icing sugar!

The gilded sugar butterfly adds a finishing touch  -  the butterfly is her 'trade-mark' appearing on many of her cakes in different colours and shapes.

Left and above some stunning examples of Liz's sugar confectionary - a lovely honeysuckle for a wedding cake and a sprig of primroses & ivy.

When Liz uses eggs in her cooking the shells are not thrown in the bin but beautifully decorated.. Painted and bejewelled they are delicately hinged to reveal secret treasures stored inside them!

The tiny egg-shell cradle and its occupant (above right), are cutely dressed, entirely in a miniature layette leading us on to her knitting skills!

Hand-knitted dolls with a difference - to cuddle and play with or preserve as pristine collectors items?

Rag-doll or Peg-doll? Large or small? All neatly stitched and prettily embroidered.

A shawl for a new baby? (Sorry!  Not this one - its on its way to my new grand-daughter!)  Christening gown?  or a jacket for a two year old?

Liz can make heirlooms to treasure!

Do contact Liz if you would like her to make something for you!

You can e-mail her if you click here!
