The Art Club

In 2002 the well known artist, sculptor and potter, Fred Carson who is also a Grantshouse village resident from time to time,  invited local art and painting enthusiasts  to join a twelve week painting course in the Village Hall

On the first day he told everyone that at the end of the course they would have an exhibition of their work in the hall and invite all their friends and everyone else in the village!

Starting in the winter of 2001/02, his class was very well supported and the Grantshouse Art Group has continued ever since!

'Fred Carson'

No one imagined that in just a few years they would have held several very successful exhibitions each year and became so popular that there are now two groups of artists who attend the classes and an present a joint exhibition each year! To view the exhibition in 2011 - Click here!

The art classes are held every Friday in the Grantshouse Village Hall.
