Why not get started during the winter months on some of the industrial projects for the 2012 Show? The following new classes will be included in the schedule.

  • Any Article of Needlework

  • A Christmas Tree Decoration

  • Any Homemade Wooden Article

  • A Collection of 4 Themed Photos to fit on A4 paper

The aims of the Gardening Club -

  • To support and encourage participation in the Grantshouse Horticultural Society’ s Show and other activities.
  • To help each other to enjoy our gardening, increase our horticultural knowledge and abilities and encourage the friendly exchange of ‘Hints and Tips’ and ‘Plant Swops’.
  • To involve and encourage the children and teenagers to develop their horticultural interests and knowledge when and where possible.
  • To enhance the overall appearance of the villages of Granthouse and Houndwood with the addition of flowers and shrubs where appropriate and agreed.
  • To maintain the Amenity Garden at the Grantshouse Play Park and the garden area around the Village Hall.
  • Install planters/tubs of flowers and shrubs at various locations to be agreed and co-ordinate their maintenance.
  • To organize special outings of horticultural interest at various times.
  • When necessary, organize plant and garden tool sales and other activities to raise funds for the Club from time to time.
  • A Gardening Club and Horticultural Society's pages will be maintained on the village web site.
  • A few Gardening books will be available for sale or loan to members.
