Gardening Horticultural Show - 2007

Our annual Grantshouse Annual Horticultural Show took place on Saturday 18th August in the Village Hall.

Although the weather has not been kind to flowers and vegetables, we still managed to have exhibits on the tables. 

The industrial and children's sections were well supported with new competitors trying their hand and achieving success. 

The cup winners were as follows :

The Bell Cup  - for best rose in show - Mrs. J. Walker
The Brown Cup - for most points in gladioli classes - A. Common
The Brown Shield - for most points in dahlia classes - B. Mein
The Clement Rose Bowl - for most points in cut flower classes - A. Common
The Hogarth Cup - for most points in onion and shallot classes - M. Wyse
The Laidlaw Cup - for most points in potato classes -    F. McCran
The Greenwood Ladies Cup - for most points in industrial class - L. Orr
The Rawlins Cup - for most points in industrial class - male - S. Williamson
The McCrindle Brown Cup - for most points in girls under 15 classes - D. Walker
The Lisa Rutherford Trophy - for best in sewing classes - P. Hogg
The Sanderson Barry Cup - for best in baking classes - V. Kerr
The Society Cup - for most points in pot plant section - C. Bertram
The Wright and McIntyre Cup - for most points in vegetable classes - F. McCran
The Childrens Cup - for handwriting -  H. Robertson
The Boys Cup - for most points in children's section - J. Carter
We would like to thank everyone who supported this years show and thank you to Mr. John. Mack for presenting the cups. 

We would also like to thank Mrs. Joyce Mack for the many years she served on the flower show committee from which she has now retired.

Our AGM will be held in the village hall in October and we would welcome suggestions for the next show. If you can suggest something you would like to see at the show or any way of improving it please let us know in writing or come along to the meeting.

The annual show has been part of village life for many years so please support it in the future and let's keep it going for many years to come.
