Annual Report 2009-10

Finance - The Community Trust’s credit balance brought forward  from the previous financial year plus additional funds raised during this year amounted to £3,173.94
The expenditure amounted to £2,406.55. Leaving a credit balance of £767.39

A summary of the main achievements of the Charity Trust during the past year Follows:- 

Healthy Eating
The Grantshouse Community Trust obtained a Grant from the NHS to promote Healthy Eating and organized a Healthy Eating Food Fayre in the Village Hall in June 2009 and a Healthy Eating Harvest Supper Dance the following September. All to promote the healthy food that is produced lacally.
The Trust also organized a Christmas Food and Crafts Fayre in the village Hall in November 2009 and made a donation towards the provision of Christmas Hampers for the elderly in the village.
Are you 'Eating the Colours' and 'Having your 'Five-A-Day'?

Quiz Prize Draws - The Trust promoted and distributed a Quiz Prize Draw to raise funds for the Charity in November 2009 and May 2010 together raising £534.00 for the Trust's funds.

For the Children - The Trust organized and provided the materials for a weekly Kidzart program for the children in the village and surrounding area during November followed by an exhibition of the children’s creations in December 2009.

Keeping Scotland Beautiful -
The Trust appealed for volunteers and took part in the National Spring Clean Campaign locally. They also continue to improve and maintain the shrubbery and planting at the Community Garden and Play Park and the Planter and Cherry Tree at the Village Hall. The Trust has also kept free of weeds the land at and surrounding the disused garage, the frontage of the empty buildings in the village centre and other areas in the village. 

The Jumble Sale - was held in the Village Hall and organized by the Trust in May raising £175.35 for the Trust's Funds

Donations -  The Trust has made donations to the Berwickshire Riding for the Disabled, The Grantshouse Village Hall and contributed to the Grantshouse Community Council’s fee for their Green Energy Consultation on behalf of the village.

The Trust will continue to organize and promote events for the benefit of the local community and the enhancement of the environment and facilities available for everyone during the coming year.
