The Grantshouse Antiques, Collectors and Crafts Fair 2010
Saturday August 27th dawned as a bright and sunny day for the first Antiques and Crafts Fair to be held in the Grantshouse Village Hall.

The Alamo Club had very kindly arranged all the hall furniture the night before to prepare it for the Fair and all those who had booked a table arrived early to set out their stalls.

Our visitors started to arrive at 9.00am and were soon asking questions and making their purchases. There was certainly a wonderful variety of beautifully crafted antique and modern items to choose from.

They were also made very welcome and served refreshments by Jean McCran who had brought some of her delicious buttered scones with home-made jam for them to enjoy.

They were a vast improvement on the bought-in mini cakes from me and were undoubtedly the incentive needed to encourage the many donations we received for the refreshments!

Each of the stall-holders had generously donated an item for the wonderful raffle prize, which included a basket filled with pieces of their craft, a lovely glass bowl and a few valuable antiques too! When the raffle was was drawn at 4.00pm we found the winning ticket belonged to Mrs Russell from Old Cambus who was very surprised and delighted by her good fortune!

Many thanks to all the stall holders for bringing such lovely things for sale, to all our visitors for their purchases and support; to the Alamo Club for setting out the Hall for us so well and to TK and Sheila, Jean, Pat and Philip from the Trust's Committee, who worked so hard to ensure the day was a success. Everyone of you helped us to raise the magnificent sum of £329.00 for the Trust's Funds!
