Katherine is pictured helping a ewe to give birth to a strong and healthy young lamb. Even though it's quite large lamb the ewe manages very well and soon gets acquainted with her youngster.

'Is she alright?'

It seems little help is needed...

Katherine gently eases the foot forward...

...and gives a helping hand by supporting the lamb as the ewe gives birth

In seconds it arrives and she quickly checks that the nose and mouth are clear...

...and the lamb is breathing easily.

The ewe gets up and seems surprised...
'Is that mine?'

The lamb is really waking up -
for the first time!'

'Hello there!'
