A Christmas Message from the Minister, Rev. Norman Whyte
Dear All
What is your strongest feeling at this time of year? It can be a number of different things: worry at how you are going to get everything done, frustration when you cannot get your plans to work out, anxiety over making the right choice when picking presents. It is a pity that people so often wish that Christmas was past and things can get back to 'normal'.
My hope and prayer this Christmas is things won’t get back to “normal”. Christmas is about a new beginning. It is about a fresh start for us as individuals and the world. Christ came to bring us together with God and with one another let us pray that we can have joy and hope and excitement this Christmas and look for a better future for all humanity.
Might I also take this opportunity to welcome you to a special Christmas service in the village hall on Sunday 20th December at 9.45 in the morning. This is for the whole community, people of all ages. We look forward to seeing you.
Happy Christmas and best wishes for the New Year  - Norman

The Wednesday Club The Club’s Christmas Party will be held in the Village hall on the 16th December. The entertainment will kindly be provided by the children from Reston School.

The Grantshouse Community Trust -
KidzArt – The children from Grantshouse and the surrounding area have been creating their own Art works in the Village Hall during November and December. They are now looking forward to their exhibition when their creations will be shown at a Preview on the evening on Friday 11th December from 7.00 – 9.00pm and this exhibition to the public on Saturday 12th December from 2.00am to 4.00pm. Some of their works of art will be donated by the children and offered for sale to aid Berwickshire’s Riding for the Disabled at Reston. Everyone is welcome to attend both events!
The Christmas Craft and Food Fayre was held in the Village Hall on Saturday 28th November. With an eleven stalls selling Christmas Goodies, Christmas shopping had never been easier or so much fun. Refreshments were served and the raffle prize was a lovely basket full of Christmas Fayre items kindly donated by the stall holders.
The Harvest Supper Dance - Grantshouse residents and their friends enjoyed this event in the Village Hall on Friday 2nd October. After being welcomed with a glass of bucks-fizz, everyone dined on a delicious supper which was followed by dancing to the ‘live’ music and disco provided by Jetstream until 1.00am.

The SWRI - The SWRI Federation Show was held in the Volunteer Hall in Duns in October when the Grantshouse Rural member, Stephanie Patterson, was awarded a 1st Prize and for her floral arrangements! The Grantshouse SWRI members were also delighted to be awarded second prize for their exhibit representing ‘The Homecoming’. Many congratulations to all concerned! The SWRI Christmas party will be on the 17th December at Eyemouth Golf Club.
